Screen Territory is thrilled to announce an exciting new opportunity for Northern Territory screen creatives!
This intensive development workshop is designed to fast-track the creation of compelling new intellectual property while providing invaluable professional development.
What it is
A hands-on, interactive workshop for eight selected participants, designed to generate market-ready material for pitching.
The initiative includes:
- Reading materials to assist in understanding screen industry development processes
- A three-day, in-person workshop in Darwin
- Ongoing development support through online milestone-based feedback sessions.
Who’s leading it?
Guiding this exclusive workshop is Greg Haddrick, a multi-AACTA award winner and one of Australia’s most accomplished showrunners.
Greg’s credits include Human Error (Nine), Pine Gap (Netflix), Janet King (ABC), Cloudstreet (Foxtel) and Underbelly (Nine), along with numerous other acclaimed dramas. As Head of Drama for Screentime for 18 years he was intimately involved in creating pitch documents, generating series arcs and episodic outlines and writing the pilot episodes for many series.
His industry expertise will provide invaluable insights and mentorship. Recently he has also branched out into audio dramas, with Central Intelligence for the BBC now the most downloaded scripted podcast on BBC Sounds and nominated for the Best Scripted Podcast in the 2025 UK Audio Awards.

We’re looking for ambitious Northern Territory screen creatives ready to take their storytelling to the next level.
Whether you’re an emerging or mid-career writer or creator, this workshop will help shape your project into an industry-ready pitch.
Submission requirements
Your CV as well as 3 pages only which include:
- A headline pitch
- Main narrative engine
- Core character(s)
- Any existing IP (if applicable)
- A brief statement of intent on how your career will benefit from participating.
Criteria
The following three criteria will be used to select the 8 participants:
- Suitability of skillsets\experienced identified in CV and statement of intent that aligns with benefits of the course.
- Strength of the Concept Pitch, both creatively and commercially.
- Quality of submitted materials.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet Screen Territory Terms of Trade eligibility criteria.
Dates
Participants finalised: On or near 27 April 2025
3-day workshop: 13-15 June 2025
Zooms on future for each project during week of: 23-27 June 2025
Deliverables submitted by participants: 28 July 2025
Review materials and plan development activities moving forward: 16-17 Aug 2025
