Information about past Screen Territory grant initiatives, awards and recipients of funding.

Past awards

  • The award, valued at $10,000, honours the achievements of a Territorian who has made an outstanding contribution to the screen industry in the Northern Territory.

    The Award is named in honour of the late Bob Plasto who made 75 documentaries in his distinguished career. Of these 20 were about the Territory.

Past grant funding

  • Screen Territory and NITV partnering together on an initiative called RED OCHRE - New voices from the Territory.

    The aim of the program was to assist emerging Territory Indigenous screen practitioners develop one or more documentaries and have them screened on NITV.

    Screen Territory and NITV offered matched funding of up to $52,000 each, per project.

    Applications closed on 29 June 2018.

  • Screen Territory and SBS Food partnered to fund a TV series 'Delicious Darwin'.

    The 8 half hour TV episode series is to showcase the vibrancy of the Darwin food and culinary scene, including the diversity of ingredients and quality of our produce and Restaurants.

    NT Government and SBS matched funding of $200,000.

  • Screen Territory and Darwin International Film Festival are teaming up to deliver the festival’s annual Spark Film Initiative.

    The Spark program showcases the work of emerging NT filmmakers

    The 2019 program provides $10,000 support for 4 teams.

  • Northern Territory Enterprise Grant Fund expands support for NT screen industry businesses and practitioners by funding their development, the development of the screen content they produce, and the NT industry.

    Business Enterprise stream

    Funding of up to $125 000 per year, for 2 years, to up to 4 companies demonstrating potential for strong growth.

    Applications closed on 4 August 2019.

    Generate Enterprise stream

    Funding of up to $40 000 per year, for 2 years, to up to 6 companies or practitioners to support strategies designed to build capacity and sustainability.

  • Centralised is an initiative between Screen Australia’s Indigenous Department, the SAFC and Screen Territory  to deliver development and production initiatives that will creatively link the North and South of Central Australia by delivering opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander screen creatives.

    Six successful teams will be invited to attend a 4-day intensive which will cover all aspects of developing a web series online.

  • The DAF Centralised Indigenous Fellowship is a partnership between the Documentary Australia Foundation (DAF), the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC), Screen Territory, National Indigenous Television (NITV) and Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS Indigenous).

    Running across three years, one Fellow will be selected annually for this opportunity.

    The successful applicant will receive a grant of up to $30,000 towards professional and documentary project development and up to $10,000 of in-kind support to attend training opportunities at AFTRS.
