Northern Territory Government

Funding

Screen Territory supports screen projects, screen businesses and people in order to:

  • foster the development and production of distinctive and marketable Territory screen stories
  • increase production levels by attracting production finance to the Northern Territory
  • extend the creative and professional skills of Northern Territory screen practitioners
  • provide opportunities for audiences and Northern Territory screen practitioners to engage with screen culture through targeted events and activities.

Funding is for Northern Territory individuals, organisations and companies, except in particular circumstances, set out in the program guidelines for Story development and Production finance, where significant benefits to the Northern Territory can be demonstrated.

We have released a Screen Industry Development Plan 2018-2020, presenting a clear vision and plan for how government and industry can work together to create more jobs and increase the sustainability and success of local screen businesses.

In addition to releasing the Plan, we are also calling for nominees to join a newly established Screen Industry Advisory Council (SIAC) that will support the implementation of the Plan.

The current Screen Territory grants remain accessible to industry in the interim. Once the SIAC convenes, it will provide guidance on the development of the new funding program to align with the  NT Screen Industry Development Plan. This is anticipated for early 2019.
