From the red centre to the red carpet – Wolfram premieres in Berlin!
Wolfram makes its international debut in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival (76th Berlinale) - one of the world’s most influential film festivals.
Selected as one of just 22 films vying for the Golden and Silver Bears, this marks a major global moment for Territory storytelling.
Directed by visionary Alice Springs filmmaker Warwick Thornton, and starring Deborah Mailman, fresh from her AACTA win for Kangaroo, Wolfram is a powerful 1932‑set story of survival, resistance and family.
Written by Territorians Steven McGregor and David Tranter, and produced by Bunya Productions, the film is deeply rooted in Central Australian history and lived experience.
Screen Territory is proud to have provided development and production support for the film and to assist the writers to travel to Berlin, ensuring the NT is represented on this global stage.
Australian cinema release: 30 April 2026
