Territory storytelling recognised at the AWGIE Awards
Congratulations to Journey Home, David Gulpilil, the Territory-produced documentary nominated for the 58th Annual AWGIE Awards in the category Documentary – Public Broadcast (including VOD) or Exhibition.
Written by Maggie Miles and Trisha Morton-Thomas, the nomination celebrates powerful Territory-led storytelling and the strength of First Nations stories on the national stage.
Presented by the Australian Writers’ Guild, the AWGIE Awards recognise excellence across stage, screen, audio and interactive works, highlighting the breadth of Australian writing talent at home and abroad.
Winners will be announced on Thursday 19 February 2026 at NIDA in Sydney, with the ceremony live streamed for audiences around Australia.
