Maggie Miles

Starting out as an actor with the Darwin Theatre Company Maggie then had an award-wining stint as Artistic Director of Corrugated Iron Youth Theatre where she wrote critically acclaimed plays BRANDED and Worry Dolls.

After completing a Post Grad in Producing at the Victorian College of the Arts, finishing as ‘Most Outstanding Student’ Maggie co-wrote and produced the feature documentary GUILTY about the final 72-hours in the life of Bali-9’s Myuran Sukumaran, part of Good Pitch Australia and Adelaide Film Festival’s HIVE Initiatives, winner Best Docudrama ATOM Awards 2018.

Maggie was a script editor and producer on the NITV described ‘Yolngu Blockbuster’ High Ground, 2021 winner Best Film: Film Critics Circle of Australia, Capricornia Film Awards, Screen Producers Australia and ATOM Awards, which world-premiered at the Berlinale.

Maggie produced features Van Diemen’s Land, The Turning, Paper Planes, and Force of Destiny. All of which premiered at major international festivals Berlinale, Toronto, Busan and Sitges, and screened at Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth and CinefestOz Festivals.

Recently Maggie co-directed Trailblazers for Stan featuring members of the Matildas. She is currently co-directing the documentary Journey Home – David Gulpilil with Trisha Morton-Thomas in alliance with the Gulpilil families.
