After training as a fine artist before working as a director in Theatre and Opera, Australian writer, director, and producer Greg McLean's filmmaking career began when he wrote and directed the horror smash hit Wolf Creek. The film played at the Sundance and Cannes Film Festivals before going onto worldwide 'cult film' status. He then wrote, directed, and produced the thrillers Rogue and Wolf Creek 2, before directing The Darkness, for Blumhouse Productions.
In 2015 Greg directed The Belko Experiment for MGM, followed by Jungle, a survival thriller based upon real-life events starring Daniel Radcliffe. Greg then Executive Produced, and directed two seasons of the Wolf Creek TV series for STAN. Recently he has directed on TV series including; The Gloaming (ABC International), Bloom (SONY TV) Jack Irish (ABC), and the hit NBC Universal sci-fi series, LA BREA.
In 2022 he directed episodes of The Twelve, starring Sam Neil for Foxtel/Warner Brothers.
In 2023, he helmed the acclaimed series, Scrublands (STAN), followed by directing the highly anticipated top-end drama - Territory (Netflix). He also announced a new venture called HUGE FILM, a partnership with fellow filmmaker Patrick Hughes and screenwriter James Beaufort to produce action, horror and thriller projects in Australia.
They're currently in production on the company's first feature - War Machine. Produced for Netflix, it's Executive Produced by McLean, written by Beaufort and Hughes and directed by Hughes.
