Trisha is a First Nations Anmatyerr woman and co-founder of Brindle Films based in Alice Springs. She is a producer of award-winning documentaries and dramas, including MaveriX (AACTA nom, ABC, Netflix), 8MMM Aboriginal Radio (ABC, Netflix, co-created/written by Trisha) and feature documentaries Audrey Napanangka (theatrical release May 2023), Finke: There and Back (AACTA nom, Stan, Netflix) and The Song Keepers (Walkley/Banff/Film Critics Circle of Australia noms).
She wrote, directed, produced, and presented award winning documentaries Occupation: Native (winner Best Documentary SPA Awards, part of the Moments in History series which The Guardian rated as the 4th most important television of 2017) and History Bites Back (“funny and confronting”, Syd Morning Herald) for NITV/SBS. In 2022, NME named her one of Australia’s top 6 political strategists: “Give Trisha Morton-Thomas her own series!” Trisha is also a renowned actor, appearing in shows including 8MMM, Total Control, True Colours and Radiance.
