Kieran Fowler

Kieran Fowler NZCS ACS - Cinematographer

Kieran Fowler, NZCS ACS, is a New Zealand-born cinematographer, who is based in Australia. Raised on the South Island, Fowler began developing his skills in photography at a young age. He works internationally across film, television, commercials and music videos.

In 2025, his feature Kangaroo, directed by Kate Woods and distributed by StudioCanal, is set to debut in Australian cinemas on Sep. 18, with international distribution to follow.

Fowler’s recent television credits include the Lionsgate mystery-comedy series Population: 11(2024) and the critically acclaimed Hulu crime thriller SafeHome(2023). His genre versatility is further exemplified in the horror-thriller Carnifex(2022) from Tubi Films.

Commercially, he has brought his aesthetic to global campaigns for leading brands such as Peloton, Uniqlo, Land Rover, Apple, Nutri-Grain and Leggo’s.

His music video credits include 5 Seconds of Summer’s “Old Me,” which earned an MTV VMA nomination for Best Cinematography in 2020; Guy Sebastian’s “Choir,” which won the 2020 ACS Golden Tripod Award and the 2019 ARIA Award for Best Video; and “Standing With You,” which received the ARIA Award for Best Video in 2020.

Other notable collaborations include Amy Shark ft. Keith Urban’s “Love Songs Ain’t For Us” and Flume ft. MAY-A’s “Say Nothing.”

In 2017, Fowler was accredited by both the New Zealand Cinematographers Society (NZCS) and the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS). He is represented by HLA Management and Top Techs Management.
