Paul Wiegard – CEO of Madman Entertainment
Paul is the Co-Founder and CEO of Madman Entertainment, a leading independent distributor in Australia and New Zealand. Under his leadership, Madman Entertainment has distributed over 35 Oscar-nominated films, including Parasite, Anatomy of a Fall, The Zone of Interest, The Substance, and Searching for Sugarman. He has also served as Executive Producer for more than 50 feature films and documentaries, such as The Australian Dream, High Ground, The Giants, Girls Can't Surf, and Journey Home. In addition, he is a current partner in the European-based development fund CCM and serves as Director of Third Man Films.
In 2016, he established DocPlay, a streaming platform that curates an exceptional collection of the world’s most extraordinary and thought-provoking documentaries.
Paul has been actively involved in the industry, serving as President of the Australian Independent Distributors Association (AIDA) for a decade. He is currently the Co-Chair of the Australian Documentary Conference (AIDC) and a Board Member of both the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) and Screenrights
