Dylan River

Dylan River is a writer, director, cinematographer and artist who grew up in Mpartnwe (Alice Springs), Australia.

His first dramatic short film "Nulla Nulla" was selected for the Berlin & Toronto film festivals and won the 2015 AACTA Award for Best Short Film.

In 2019 Dylan wrote and directed Robbie Hood, a 6 x 10min series for SBS. The short form series, a retelling of a famous folk tale set in his hometown of Alice Springs premiered at Cannes Series, then won the 2019 AACTA award for best online series.

Dylans works as cinematographer on SBS/NITV documentary series The Beach won the 2021 AACTA award for best cinematography.

In 2022, Dylan directed the 6 part ABC series Mystery Roead: Origin. Which won seven AACTA awards including best direction and best series. ABC announced that the show become there highest rating drama to date.

Also in 2022 he was invited to exhibit his photographic work at the 4th National indigenous triennial, at the national gallery of Australia.

In 2024 Dylan completed the Stan original series Thou Shalt Not Steal. An 8-episode dark comedy/ road series which he created, wrote and directed.
