Rachel Perkins
Rachel Perkins is filmmaker with a career spanning documentary, TV drama and movies. Her Arrernte/Kalkadoon heritage has inspired much of her work including her most recent series The Australian Wars.
Other notable documentary work includes the First Australians and Blood Brothers. Her narrative work includes the TV dramas Total Control, Mystery Road and Redfern Now and the movies Jasper Jones, Mabo, Bran Nue Dae, One Night the Moon and Radiance.
She began her career as a trainee at the Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association in Mparntwe/Alice Springs.
Rachel currently holds the position of Director of Strategy First Nations at Screen Australia and is the Chairperson of the Australian Film, Television and Radio School.
