Sarah Smith

Sarah Smith is one of Australia’s most experienced TV drama writers and showrunners. She was an EP, co-creator and writer of the drama series Amazing Grace, Bite Club, Rescue Special Ops and Wild Boys. She was a script producer and writer on Darby and Joan, Love Child, McLeod’s Daughters and The Alice.

She wrote and produced the telemovies, Dripping in Chocolate for BBC Worldwide, and The Killing Field, which had a 6-part crime series spin-off, Winter. She wrote the 4-hour miniseries, House of Bond, starring Sam Neill. Other writing credits include, The Last King of the Cross, Wanted, All Saints, Canal Road, Sea Patrol, and Wonderland.

Sarah co-wrote the psychological feature Nerve and is co-writer and producer of the thriller Black Water: Abyss. In 2023, her debut novel 12 Steps to a Long and Fulfilling Death was published by Ultimo Press and was voted on for the top 24 Australian books in 2024. Her second novel is due to be published late 2026.
