John Stokes

John Stokes ACS is one of Australia’s most experienced cinematographers, with more than four decades shooting acclaimed feature films and television drama. His credits include A Place to Call Home, Darby & Joan, Nautilus, Packed to the Rafters and Roar.

His work has earned national and international recognition, most recently Best Cinematography at the 2025 Asian Academy Creative Awards for Darby & Joan Season 2.

Based in Queensland, John also serves on the ACS National Accreditation Committee and is directing and producing the feature documentary Pickleball Mania!
