Chris Tangey - Cinematographer
Chris Tangey is an Alice Springs-based Cinematographer, specialising in drone. He is also NT board member for the Australian Location Managers Guild and maintains possibly the largest 4K, 6K and 8K stock footage library outside Australia's cities. His short films represented Australia at World Expo Japan 2025.
Nine of his works played daily on the 12 metre screen at the Australia Pavilion over 180 days to 3 million visitors. His imagery features in many permanent exhibitions including the new 6K cinematic film at the entrance to the Australian War Memorial Canberra, the National Museum of Australia, the National Science Museum of Canada Ottawa and the La Nube Children's Museum in El Paso Texas. He has licensed his premium stock footage worldwide including to BBC Natural History Unit, Warner Bros, Universal Pictures, Paramount, Studiocanal, SBS and Stan.
He has won the Judges Award plus 10 gold awards from the Australian Cinematographers Society and 38 international awards for aerial cinematography including 2 wins in LA and 3 in New York City.
Despite specialising in the sub 2kg class of drone, he has shot aerials for a variety of productions, including under the direction of Werner Herzog, Russell Boyd ACS, ASC and on 2 eps of "The Batchelor" (U.S.) for Warner Bros.
He continues to license his premium stock footage for film, broadcasting, advertising, events and conferences.
